Ah yes painting. In some circumstances I find myself a bit put off with painting, though I keep at it despite the lack of time to devote to it. It is a dilemma when thinking of the endlessness of a painting. Layer upon layer when is enough enough? or not enough? With drawing for instance you reach a point where there is not much more you can add. I was a fan of acrylic because of my impatience and need for instant gratification and poo pooed oils because of the messy cleanup and slow drying time. A friend suggested I could easily clean my brushes with a gritty pumice soap like Lava©. I was begrudgingly swayed into trying oils and It stuck. It is a perfect fit for the detail I want to pursue and may actually make me want to paint more. These paintings are in no order and are the pick of the litter.
